Petra Hajdu

I am a psychologist and training to be a specialist in child and youth clinical psychology. I received my degree in psychology at Eötvös Loránd University and I am currently a student of the Child and Adolescent Clinical and Mental Health Psychologist training program at the University of Pécs.

My work with children and adolescents is primarily based on a psychodynamic approach, which I supplement with cognitive techniques depending on the nature of the problem. I consider it particularly important to view the family as a system in the case of children and to explore the family dynamic processes underlying the difficulties in close cooperation with the parents. All this can contribute to the well-being of the child and the family as a whole.

I provide general psychological counseling for adults, in which we work together on difficulties of everyday life, stress management, emotional blockages, relationship issues and self-knowledge topics.

During my university years, I worked primarily with preschool children. After obtaining my degree as a certified psychologist I was employed by a pedagogical service, where besides conducting diagnostic examination activities, I provide educational counseling and individual psychology sessions from preschool to high school aged children. I’m also involved in early development, so I work with children aged 0–3 and their parents.

I have gained experience in both online and in-person individual consultation processes with children, adolescents, and adults in private practice.

I do my work with continuous professional supervision and self-awareness.

Currently, I primarily work with adolescents, young adults, and adults online in individual psychological processes. Personal consultation and counseling with preschool and elementary school children, adolescents, and their parents is available in the XIV. district of Budapest.
